I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) practicing in the D.C. metro area. I currently hold licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.

In addition to my clinical licenses, I hold a B.A. from Vassar College, a masters in science (MSc) in public health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a masters in social work (MSW) from The Catholic University of America.

My Background

I was drawn to social work out of a desire to work with individuals in a more personal, one-on-one capacity. Prior to starting my private practice in 2017, I worked as a clinical social worker at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in the intensive care unit where I counseled cancer, transplant, and other chronically ill patients and their families.

I transitioned to social work from public health, having worked in global public health and development in the U.S., Belgium, Zambia, Uganda, and the West Bank, supporting HIV/AIDS programs, health system strengthening, and disaster management activities.

I am a third-culture kid (raised in Tokyo, Japan). I have lived in Brussels, London, and up and down the East Coast, and have an almost competitive obsession with travel - 57 countries and counting!

Clinical Training

I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and have advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with additional training in Emotionally Freedom Technique/Tapping and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).

Professional Affiliations

I am an active member of the Greater Washington Society for Clinical Social Workers, the Clinical Social Work Association, and EMDR International Association (EMDRIA)
