Change

Starts With You

Welcome

I am a clinical social worker (LICSW) in private practice currently working in the Washington D.C. area. My goal in creating this site is to introduce you to my practice, and to my vision for the therapeutic process, in the hopes of making your journey into therapy just that little bit easier.

Elizabeth Tschoegl - Clinical Social Worker - Washington D.C.

My Approach

I provide trauma-informed psychotherapy, specializing in adults experiencing or having experienced trauma, PTSD, grief, complicated grief, loss/bereavement as well as anxiety, depression, acute and chronic illness, medical trauma, and existential challenges.

With a sense of humor and collaboration, I aim to create a safe, down-to-earth, and relaxed environment for you to harness your own capacities for healing. Through the use of evidence-based techniques, genuine connection, and mutual respect we will draw on your own innate resilience and capacity for change, and give confidence to the belief that change is possible and that you can feel better.

Evidence Based Methods

Integrating evidence-based cognitive and behavioral strategies (CBT), brain-based modalities including Eye Motor Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Brainspotting, and mind-body approaches including mindfulness (MBSR), I aim to assist you in identifying and reframing unhelpful thought patterns, addressing signs and symptoms that may be troubling, strengthening existing coping strategies, and building new tools to address the issues you face everyday.
